Wales –Criccieth 50’s & 60’s Experience

Staying at the 3* Lion Hotel, Criccieth

On this holiday we will be rolling back the years to the 50’s and swinging 60’s with music associated with the Rock ‘n’ Roll era.

We also include special visits, one of which takes us to ‘The Home Front exhibition’ at Llandudno. Another is a steam train journey from Porthmadog. There will also be plenty of free time in Criccieth and the chance of an optional excursion to Portmerion, an Italianate Village created by Clough Williams Ellis made famous by the television series ‘The Prisoner’.

We are based at The 3* Lion Hotel, family owned and managed for three generations, which is situated in the centre of Criccieth with views to the Snowdonia Mountains. Our journey to the hotel takes us along the Dee Valley which at this time of year, should be in full autumn colour, then over the Ffestiniog Mountains to arrive in good time before dinner, where you will receive an old penny to buy a welcome drink. During the week you will also receive a Cadwalders ice cream which is special to Criccieth. All this together with the autumn mountain scenery and nostalgic events will make this holiday a memorable one.
