Staying at the family run Little Haven Hotel, South Shields
As well as being the oldest and largest town in South Tyneside, South Shields is also one of the region’s most popular seaside resorts. Come with us to the mouth of the Tyne as we make this our base for our holiday as we visit the magnificent Holy Isle. When you mention South Shields, many people think of a built-up industrial area, however you will be pleasantly surprised with the beautiful beach and promenade. Our hotel is superbly located where the mouth of the River Tyne meets the sea. Watch the cargo vessels, cruise ships and overnight ferries saunter back and forth from their dock in Newcastle, it feels like you can put your hand out and push them away.

Our Itinerary
DAY 1 After your door-to-door service has brought you to the coach, we head east to Richmond for time at leisure and lunch before heading north to our hotel for the next 4 nights.
DAY 2 A free day to relax and explore all that South Shields has to offer.
DAY 3 A full day today in the company of our Blue Badge Guide. We head north to Lindisfarne, (Holy Isle). Holy Island has a recorded history from the 6th century AD. After the Viking invasions and the Norman conquest of England, a priory was re-established. A small castle was built on the island in 1550. We head south afterwards via Seahouses.
DAY 4 Another full day today in the company of our Blue Badge Guide as we explore the southern sections of the Northumberland coastline enjoying the beautiful beaches and seaside villages such as Newbiggin, Amble, Warkworth and Alnmouth.
DAY 5 Today we head for home, stopping en-route at Thirsk, (James Herriot Country) We have free time here before enjoying an included 2 course lunch. We later make our way homewards to our door-to-door service which will be waiting to take you back to your doorstep.
