Hogmanay at The North West Castle

Our Hogmanay Tour is based in the county of Dumfries and Galloway at The North West Castle Hotel, Stranraer. It is no secret that Scotland knows how to put on New Year celebration, in fact it is probably celebrated here more than Christmas! What better way to welcome in the New Year than join us on a weekend of merriments and enjoy the festivities knowing that absolutely everything has been taken care of for you.

Our hotel offers an impressive 73 en-suite bedrooms, along with stunning dining experiences and leisure facilities including swimming pool, spa bath, gym, and its very own indoor curling rink which hosts a multitude of world-renowned curling events throughout the year. The hotel has long been a hub for Scottish Curling and regularly hosts major national and international competitions, as well as open weekend competitions and tuition breaks.

Our Itinerary
DAY 1 We join our coach after our door to door pick up and drive north to Scotland with onboard mince pies and maybe a welcome drink. We travel with refreshment stops en-route to our hotel for dinner and a stay of 3 nights. Tonight also includes live entertainment and dancing with an accordion player.
DAY 2 Enjoy your breakfast and maybe we will travel a little this morning because today is the last day of the year, New Year’s Eve. In the afternoon you do as you please, maybe rest a little in preparation for this evening. There will be indoor activities available at the hotel all day for those who wish to stay in, such as table tennis and a treasure hunt. You will also have a buffet lunch served today, along with a glass of fizz in the lounge before dinner. This evening you experience a Hogmanay Gala Dinner, with live music and dancing afterwards to see in the New Year, before finally retiring to our rooms.
DAY 3 Happy New Year! A leisurely start today as we gently take breakfast or brunch followed by what our hotel has to offer. A buffet lunch will be provided and there will be afternoon Bingo in the Castle Suit. There will also be a traditional New Year’s Curling Bonspiel in the afternoon before your dinner this evening.
DAY 4 A leisurely breakfast today as we prepare to say our goodbyes and leave the hotel, driving south through Scotland into England and our door-to-door service to our homes.
