Staying at the Smiths Hotel, Weston-Super-Mare
Our spring tour to Somerset stays in Weston-Super-Mare at the Smith’s Hotel on the seafront overlooking
Weston Bay. It is within easy reach of the grand pier, gardens, and shopping complex having relaxing and
comfortable surroundings which include a garden terrace. Somerset (home of the summer settlers) is a rural
county with rolling countryside of the Mendip, Blackdown and Quantock hills, and has interesting villages and
towns, some producing the well-known cider which you will have the opportunity to sample.

Our Itinerary
DAY 1 After your doorstep pick up we board our coach and travel south with refreshment stops en route to
Tewkesbury where we include a mid afternoon cream tea before continuing to Weston-Super-Mare and the
smiths hotel for dinner and a stay of four nights.
DAY 2 Morning free then an afternoon tour that will take us into the Cheddar Gorge, one of the seven natural
wonders of Britain. It is a limestone gorge situated in the Mendip hills near the village of Cheddar, that has
near vertical cuffs rising to 450 feet.
DAY 3 Today after breakfast we board our coach and drive to Wells, the smallest city in England. A farmers’
market is held here every Wednesday morning, among the quaint old streets close to the cathedral and
bishops palace. We will have plenty of time here before an afternoon visit to Glastonbury, known for the
festival and also the abbey before
returning to our hotel for dinner.
DAY 4 Today we have a leisurely
touring day before an afternoon
included visit to a cider farm, here you
can see how cider is made before
enjoying a tasting and maybe
purchasing a bottle or two.
DAY 5 After breakfast we bid farewell
to our hotel and start our country drive
north, first to Hereford where we take a
short break to view the cathedral, then
via Craven Arms and eventually our
door-to-door service to our home
areas.
