Our early spring tour takes us into the scottish border country renowned for it’s gentle rolling hills and rivers.
We travel through scenic countryside and attractive villages and include visits to Dawyck botanic gardens
and Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott. On this holiday we stay at the Barony Castle hotel
situated on the outskirt of the town of Peebles which offers many single rooms at no supplement. The 4 star
hotel is set within 25 acres of grounds, an historic castle offering a blend of modern comfort and old-world
charm. It has an indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna.

Our Itinerary
DAY 1 after your doorstep service we join our coach & travel north with refreshment stops to the Scottish
borders and scenic route past the devils beef tubs & source of the river tweed to the Barony Castle hotel for
dinner & a stay of four nights.
DAY 2 morning free, then afternoon visit to Dawyck Botanic Gardens and Arboretum covering 25 hectares.
It’s situated in the upper tweed valley, with tree planting dating back more than 300 years and is also known
for its exotic native plants and colourful flowers.
DAY 3 today we travel inland a little to Scotland’s capital Edinburgh. Here we give you a short city tour and
time to explore the city before returning to our hotel for dinner.
DAY 4 after breakfast we have visits
with a difference, first we follow the
course of the river tweed where there
will be time to explore the small town
of Melrose and its abbey founded in
1136. Later we drive to Abbotsford
House, the home of Sir Walter Scott for
an included visit. Its situated on the
south bank of the river tweed and
dates back to 1817.
DAY 5 after our leisurely breakfast, we
leave our hotel and travel the border
route south with comfort stops,
enjoying more lovely scenery into
England and onto our special door to
door service that will take you home.
