Staying at the Falmouth Hotel- Falmouth
Based in the lovely town of Falmouth, this tour features excursions to some of Cornwall’s most delightful spots, including St Michaels Mount, Trebah Garden and the fishing harbour of St Ives. We also take in the famous Lands’ End and spend a day on the uncrowded and unspoilt Isles of Scilly.
Set in a beautiful location on the clifftop overlooking the sea, the traditional grand Victorian Falmouth Hotel is just a short easy 10-minute walk to the town centre and beach and is ideally located for visits to nearby attractions. Set in 5 acres of landscaped gardens, there is also an outside seating area overlooking the sea.
Our Itinerary
Day 1- After your door-to-door service has brought you to the coach, we continue south via the motorways pausing appropriately for refreshment breaks on our way to the north coast of Cornwall and our hotel for the next 4 nights.
Day 2-This morning is free for you to relax and explore Falmouth before our afternoon included visit to Trebah Gardens with free time to explore this sub-tropical garden paradise set against a stunning coastal backdrop. At the bottom of the garden is a secluded beach.
Day 3- We have an early start as we make our way to Penzance from where we board our sail to the enchanting Isles of Scilly. We arrive on the beautiful Island of St Mary’s the largest of the Isles of Scilly and the gateway to the rest of the islands. This compact island is a delight to explore, with a selection such as shops, churches and galleries dotted around the central hub, Hugh Town, as well as some charming cafes, restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy lunch. You can even stretch your legs on one of the lovely beaches, take a gentle stroll to admire the fabulous scenery or simply watch the coming and goings around the quay before boarding our return sailing. (Please note, today’s excursion requires an early start and a late return).
Day 4- This morning, we travel to the attractive town of Marazion where we enjoy a photo stop to capture the tidal island of St Michaels Mount which lies half a mile offshore. We then continue our travels to the famous Lands’ End, known as the start or finishing point of journeys to or from John O’ Groats in Scotland. We spend some time taking in the natural beauty and beautiful views here before travelling along the scenic west Cornwall coast road to the picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town of St Ives, where we have time at leisure to explore the numerous galleries and the Barbara Hepworth Museum & sculpture garden.
Day 5-Today after breakfast, we retrace our steps home navigating the motorway network back to our home areas where your door-to-door service will be waiting to take you back to your homes. Suitable comfort stops will be taken on route.
