WHITBY AND NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS

With cobbled streets, independent shops, the famous Captain Cook Memorial Museum, sandy blue flag beach and a full programme of events in the summer it’s not surprising that Whitby is regularly voted among Britain’s favourite seaside holidays. It’s also right on the edge of the North York Moors – a treasure trove of spectacular walks and historic villages. Overlooking Whitby harbour, the Royal Hotel Whitby is situated opposite the famous Whalebone Arch on the West Cliff, area of Whitby with breath-taking views of the ruined Gothic Abbey.

Our Itinerary

Day 1- After your door-to-door service has picked you up from your doorstep, we meet our coach and make our way via A66 to the Mainsgill Farm Shop.  We continue onwards to Whitby and the Royal Hotel, our home for the next 4 nights.  We aim to arrive in plenty of time to relax before dinner.

Day 2- A free day today to enjoy your surroundings, relax or even explore all that Whitby has to offer. 

Day 3- A full day excursion today.  This morning, we join our heritage train for an included single journey through the North Yorkshire Moors to Pickering.  This charming town is the southern terminus of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. In the afternoon we have an included visit to Eden Camp,  a prisoner of war camp, built on an agricultural plot on the outskirts of Malton in early 1942, by a small contingent of army personnel.

Day 4- A half day today.  We have a leisurely morning before we travel out to the seaside town of Scarborough.  Award winning sandy beaches, breath-taking coastline, wonderful family attractions and some of the best events in the country.

Day 5-After breakfast, we drive westwards to the city of York where we spend most of the day.  We continue later via Harrogate to our home areas where your door-to-door service will be waiting to take you back to your doorstep.
