SCOTLAND – The Isle Of Arran
Single Supplement: Nil
5 days, Monday 1st – Friday 5th June
Staying at the Kinloch Hotel, Blackwaterfoot.
The Isle of Arran, Scotland is one of the most southerly Scottish island and sits in the Firth of Clyde between Ayrshire and Kintyre. Arran is 19 miles long by 10 miles wide but has a remarkable diversity of landscapes and seascapes. The pretty villages on Arran’s beautiful coastline are complemented by a rugged and mountainous interior in the north and green rolling hills and woodland in the south. Whether you’re looking to get away from it all, have an action-packed break, visit friends & family or just uncover the hidden delights, there is something here for everyone; Arran really does have something for everyone. The Crawford family have owned and operated the Kinloch Hotel since 1954. It remains very much an integral part of the local community and they look forward to welcoming all guests, old and new, to enjoy their wonderful hotel.
Our Itinerary
Day 1 After your door-to-door service has brought you to the coach, we travel north via the motorways before crossing through lovely countryside via Cumnock to Ardrossan where we join our sailing for the 55-minute crossing to Arran. We aim to arrive at our hotel in, plenty of time to settle in before dinner. Suitable refreshment stops will be made en-route.
Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast take a quiet walk to the golf club where you can enjoy a coffee at the club tea rooms or just relax next to the hotel and look out over Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre and maybe even observe the seals lazying on the nearby rocks. We leave at 12 noon for an included visit to Brodick Castle where the beautiful gardens and country park stretch from the shore to the highest peak. Ancient seat of the Dukes of Hamilton, the castle was the home of the Duke and Duchess of Montrose until 1957.
Day 3 This morning we leave at 11am for an included visit to the Isle of Arran Heritage Museum before we continue onto the island’s main town of Brodick where we shall stop for you to explore. We continue along the south of the island and later pause for an included tea/coffee and biscuits before heading around the west of the island back to our hotel.
Day 4 A free morning today to take in the local views and relax or explore and to purchase lunch. We leave after lunch and explore the north of the island to Lochranza and the Arran Distillery where we shall have an included tour. We continue on the mountainous region to Arran aromatics and then via the string road back to our hotel.
Day 5 All too soon we leave for home and join our mid-morning sailing back to the mainland and retrace our steps south to your door-to-door service which will return you to your doorstep.
