Leicestershire – Richard the 3rd

A holiday staying at the four star Hinckley Island hotel during which we visit Leicester for a tour connected with Richard 3rd we also spend time at Barnsdale gardens for exploring the numerous small gardens getting ideas for our own garden perhaps.

Leicester City lies in the River Soar and at the edge of the National Forest.  One of the oldest cities in England Leicester has retained a remarkable record of its past in buildings that still stand today including Ancient Roman pavements and baths.

Bosworth Heritage Centre The multi award winning Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre is best known for its interactive exploration of battles, armour and medieval army life.

Richard III was king of England for2 years, until his death in the Battle of Bosworth field.

Barnsdale Gardens The 38 small gardens over an 8 acre site were created for television by Geoff Hamilton.
