Our Summer visit to the Isle of Wight, stays in Sandown at the Ocean Hotel, a favourite with our customers, having excellent food and entertainment every night. The island which has approximately 60 miles of coastline offers something for everyone. As well as our usual tours around the island, Shanklin, Yarmouth, Cowes, Ryde, we include visits to The Botanical Gardens & Carisbrooke Castle. we also include the pretty village of Godshill and optional tours to Portmouth Harbour and Osborne House.
Isle of Wight England’s largest island, is situated across the Solent from the mainland’s south coast. The island offers numerous diverse towns and villages from pretty Godshill with it’s thatched cottages, the yachting marinas’ at Cowes and Yarmouth the resorts of Sandown and Shanklin or stately homes of Carisbrooke castle or Osborne House.
Sandown long stretches of golden sand and white cliffs around Sandown bay make this a popular resort. Sandown Zoo well known for it’s ‘tiger island’ was an operations centre for PLUTO or pipe line under the ocean. A popular walk takes you along the cliffs to Shanklin returning along the promenade.
