Perhaps visit the famous Abbey and Castle before strolling down Steep Hill, past Jew’s House (said to be the oldest dwelling in Britain) to the modern Waterside area of canals, markets and shopping centres.  A short walk would take you to Brayford pool and the many cafes and bar areas.
