Staying at the 3* Queens Hotel Lerwick

With its unique culture, stunning seascapes and abundant wildlife, Shetland is an entrancing blend of Scotland and Norway. Mainland is an incredible place with coastal scenery ranging from charming to dramatic with its capital Lerwick centred around the busy harbour.

Our hotel the Queens, occupies a central position close to the harbour, an ideal base for our stay.

Our Itinerary

Our first day takes us North to Scotland bypassing Perth and on to Aberdeen for our over-night sail to Lerwick. During our sail we have cabins with low berth and included dinner and breakfast. During our stay there will be a free day for you to explore Lerwick, Britain’s most northerly capital. We also have a full day tour of Mainland with local guide, including ferry to Yell and Unst. Enroute you will have the opportunity to see the light house at the most northerly point of the British Isles at Muckle Flugga. A further leisure drive will be included to explore more of the island, completing our full tour (possible by road) of the Shetlands.

Our return journey on-board ship is the same as the outward with low bunks and included meals on-board. We arrive back early morning to re-join our coach before heading South through Scotland and over the border back into England and on to our home areas.

ISLE OF UNST The Northernmost island in the British Isles is home to dramatic scenery and immense bird life.

ISLE OF YELL Second largest of the Shetland Islands and during the second World War was the haunt of German submarines. It is now known for its otter population and seabird colonies.
