Orkneys and North Scotland

Staying at 3* hotels, Ben Wyvis Hotel at Strathpeffer, Ayre Hotel at Kirkwall & Royal Hotel at Ullapool

Our journey begins travelling North into Scotland by passing Perth and Inverness to Strathpeffer for dinner and overnight stay at the Ben Wyvis Hotel. The following day we leave after breakfast and travel on the North East coastal route to Gills Bay for our crossing to St Margaret’s on mainland Orkney. On route to our Hotel at Kirkwall we cross the Churchill Barriers visiting the Italian Chapel before arriving at the Ayre Hotel for dinner and a stay of three nights.

During our stay in Kirkwall we have free time to explore the town and included visits to the Ring of Brogar, Skarabrae, and Skaill House, one of the most ancient site’s in Britain. On day 5 we leave our Hotel and travel to Stromness for the morning crossing to Scrabster on the mainland. From here we drive along the top of Scotland via Tongue, Durness and Laxford Bridge to Ullapool to the Royal Hotel for dinner and a stay of two nights. While here we have a free day. On our final day we travel south via the Spey Valley and across the border to our home areas.
